Trail Options within Vipingo Ridge

There are many established walking, running and cycling routes in the 2,000 acres of Vipingo Ridge. In order to be inclusive, participants had the choice of three main trail routes, catering to different abilities and ages:

5.6km Adventure trail (Ages 8+) – This family-friendly course featured a 125-meter climb over gentle rolling hills, perfect for beginners and young runners. Children under 11 were required to run with an adult to ensure safety and support.

9.6km Rollercoaster Ride (Ages 13+) – A more challenging trail with a 210-meter climb and varied terrain, including some steep sections and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, designed for those looking for a thrill.

21.3km Ultimate Adventure (Ages 18+) – The most demanding course, featuring a 430-meter climb that took runners through forests, hills, and open landscapes. This route was ideal for experienced runners seeking a serious challenge.

In addition to these runs, a walking option for the 5.6km trail was available for those who preferred a slower pace or didn’t want to compete.

Event Atmosphere

The atmosphere was lively and full of positive energy from early morning. Runners gathered to stretch, warm up, and share last-minute tips while supporters lined the trails, cheering them on enthusiastically.

Many spectators enjoyed hot coffee, mahamri, and fresh fruits as breakfast for sale.

After the races, participants refueled with freshly made pizza and pasta, which proved to be the perfect reward after a morning of physical effort. The relaxed setting allowed runners and supporters alike to mingle and celebrate together.

Safety and Support

The event was underpinned by a strong commitment to participant safety and well-being. Our Security Mobile Response team was stationed throughout the course and ensured that runners were guided and supported at every stage.

Hydration stations were well-stocked and staffed, and post-race recovery zones allowed runners to relax and rehydrate during and after their efforts.

The event was well-organized, with clear and visible course markings ensuring that runners stayed on track. Water stations were strategically placed along the trails to keep participants hydrated.

Medical teams and friendly marshals were present throughout, ready to assist whenever needed and maintain a safe environment.

Trail Run Prizes

At Vipingo Ridge we foster an inclusive approach, with every entrant receiving a certificate, but only the winners can take the podium.

Medals were awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5km, 10km, and 21km races across Elite and Veterans categories.

Medals also went to the top three runners in the Junior and Kids categories for the 5km and 10km events.

Official certificates were handed out to all finishers, recognizing their efforts and participation.
